Three ECE students gather around an NXP microcontroller board

Students involved in Virginia Tech’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team (HEVT) are designing and building a hybrid V8 Camaro. ECE students Hrusheekesh Warpe, Bowei Zhao, and Karan Kant are members of HEVT’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems sub team. They are among the first to work with the new NXP microcontroller board pictured above.

Major Design Experience

ECE’s two-semester major design experience (ECE 4805-4806) provides teams of students with an industry-like experience on projects specified and directed by industry partners. The teams take a substantial hardware project through the proposal process, design concept, implementation, and testing.
