ECE 3274 - Electronic Circuits Laboratory II (1C)

Course Description

Design of amplifiers and other electronic systems to satisfy specifications. Bipolar and field-effect transistors, diodes integrated circuits and passive components are part of the hardware needed. Gain, bandwidth, feedback, stability are some of the design concepts needed.

Why take this course?

This is the fourth laboratory experience for all EE students in which they learn to design and build more complicated circuits (systems) based on the theoretical and analytical concepts developed in 3204 and the lab skills learned in the 2074, 2274, and 3074 laboratory sequence. Unlike the earlier courses where the emphasis is on developing construction and analysis skills, this course emphasizes circuit design skills that require the student to create circuits that meet customer/user specifications.

Learning Objectives

  • design a complete electronic circuit system using a top-down approach which starts from system specifications,
  • model the design using such tools as PSpice and MatLab,
  • build the circuit,
  • test the completed circuit and verify that it meets design specifications.
