Yue (Joseph) Wang, received the Outstanding Alumnus Award in Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Maryland Graduate School. Wang is the director of ECE's Computational Bioinformatics & Bioimaging Laboratory at the Alexandria Research Institute.
He leads a $5.5 million research effort to improve the outcome for breast cancer patients by analyzing the molecular signature of individual patient's tumors.
He also was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute for Medic al and Biological Engineering for his contributions to biomedical informatics. Wang joined ECE in 2003 and received his Ph.D. from University of Maryland in 1995.
