ECE alumnus Barry Mullins is the winner of the 2010 IEEE C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineering Teacher Award. The award is is given to only one professor annually across the nation's 325 ECE departments. It presented to the professor who best trains and motivates their students to become electrical and computer engineers.
Mullins, who received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering in 1997, is currently an associate professor of computer engineering in the department of electrical and computer engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
Mullins also earned a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Evansville and an M.S. in computer engineering from AFIT. He previously served in the Air Force for 21 years, seven of which were spent teaching at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
