ECE 4674 Scattering Parameters Laboratory (1C)

Laboratory techniques for ultra-high frequency measurements. Emphasizes the design of a microstrip amplifier using scattering parameter measurement and analysis.

What is the reason for this course?

This course provides an ability to measure radio frequency circuits and components at near microwave frequencies using the techniques used for microwaves. The student will be able to design with the most valued of the state-of-the-art microwave analysis and design methods. Continued use of lab notebooks is made to relate to the industrial world.

Technical Elective. Typically offered: Spring. Program Area: Communications.

Prerequisites: 4605; 4675.

Why are these prerequisites or corequisites required?

EE 4605, 4675 provide the necessary background in construction, biasing, analysis, and design at radio frequencies to extend these concepts to the higher frequencies.
