ECE offers the following courses for non-majors, to provide students from other fields the basic understanding of electrical and computer engineering principles. Other courses are cross-listed with participating departments.
ECE 3054
Electrical Theory
For students in curricula other than electrical and computer engineering. Fundamentals of electric circuits: circuit laws and network theorems, response of first and second order systems, power calculations, and magnetic circuits.
Taught for non-majors. Typically offered Fall/ Spring/ Summer I. (3C)
Prerequisites: PHYS 2306 Foundations of Physics. Corequisites: MATH 2214 Differential Equations
ECE 3254
Industrial Electronics
For students in curricula other than electrical and computer engineering. Fundamentals of electronics, including basic device principles. Circuit applications include digital, op-amp, and analog analysis for industrial applications.
Taught for non-majors. Typically offered Fall/Spring/Summer II. (3C)
