What I'm looking for in the summaries of the reading assignments

A good summary of the reading assignment succinctly describes the main points of the authors.  It presents the assumptions of their work, the conclusions, and where appropriate, the results.   One goal you should have is to write the summary so that if you were to re-read it six months from now you could tell me what was important about the article without having to re-read the article itself.

The summary should not simply paraphrase the topic sentence of each paragraph of the article, or of each section of the article.    This mimics the structure of the article without showing that you have thought about the content.  The summary should be brief.  Please limit yourself to no more than 200 words per article.

You should also include any questions you might have about the assignment, either points that were not clear to you or points that seem to contradict points made by other articles we have read.
