ECE now offers a masters and doctoral degree option in biomedical engineering. The option is offered in conjunction with the Virginia Tech/Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences (SBES).

ECE faculty members with research interests in biomedical applications that are interested in serving as advisors for students interested in the biomedical option include: A.A. (Louis) Beex (Systems & Controls), G.Q. Lu (Electronics), Lamine Mili (Power/Communications), Joseph Tront (Computer Engineering/Electronics), Joseph Wang (Computer Engineering), Brian Woerner (Communications), and Chris Wyatt (Computer Engineering/Systems & Controls).
