Advanced Virginia Tech undergraduates with successful academic records are offered the option of using some of their BS courses to complete an MS, thesis, degree.


The department offers the Honors BS/MS program under the guidelines of the Undergraduate University Honors Program. This program allows an undergraduate student to apply for the BS/MS program upon completion of 90 course credit hours and obtain both the BS and the MS degrees in electrical & computer engineering with 12 hours of dual credit (some restrictions apply).


After earning a BS degree, BS/MS students may stay on campus to complete the masters program, or may transfer to the National Capital Region at the Northern Virginia Center.


Minimum 3.5 Grade Average

This option is only available to Virginia Tech undergraduates in Electrical & Computer Engineering with an overall GPA of 3.5 or better on all undergraduate work (both Virginia Tech and transfer course work).
