Davis wins in Imagi-nations contestUsing a virtual reality theme park attraction he developed for Disney's annual Imagi-Nations competition, Jarvis Davis (EE, '96) won a grant and a cooperative education job with the Walt Disney Imagineering division in Glendale, California. After developing his design, titled "Just An Illusion," during his final semester at Tech, Davis submitted it to the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), one of six engineering organizations that participate in the Disney competition. The society selected Davis's design as one of three nationwide to be submitted to the Disney competition. The Imagi-Nations judges in Glendale chose Davis's design as the best submitted by the NSBE. Davis is using the grant to attend graduate school at North Carolina State University, and begins his co-op job at Imagineering this spring. |
