Terms and Conditions
Each student in ECE 2534, 4514, 4530, and 4534 must purchase a Spartan-3E Starter Board (S3E) from Digilent, Inc.
The Digilent value code will be distributed in class.
Each S3E Board has a serial number, assigned to the purchaser for warranty repairs.
If a student purchases a used board, the ECE department has no obligation to provide access to
special
Digilent services
.
Student Responsibilities
Each student is responsible for testing his or her S3E

.
When a student picks up his or her board, he or she should test it immediately.
The S3E is sensitive to static. Handle the board only by the edges. Transport it in anti-static packaging.
The S3E rotary knob is fragile. Protect the board inside a hard box or case during transport.
Warranty or Repair Services
Do not contact Digilent without authorization.
VT students must obtain authorization from Bob Lineberry to access
special
Digilent services.
The ECE department provides no warranty service.
During the time a student is waiting for a repaired or new board, the ECE department will provide a loaner board.
After receiving authorization, students may purchase a Spartan board, without power supply or USB cable, at a special VT price.
S3E Loan Policy
The student has up to two weeks to return the loaned board. At the end of the current semester, the loaned board is due immediately.
If a student fails to return a loaned S3E, law enforcement may be contacted. You don't want to risk your future.
